Lt. Scott Hanks of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office to assume new position at Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office
After nearly 15 years of service with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Hanks is leaving to assume a position with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office in the Lowcountry. Lt. Hanks was an Assistant Commander in the Judicial Services Division of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. In a farewell reception held at the Judicial Services Complex on Friday, Lt. Hanks was presented with a plaque for his years of service to Laurens County by Sheriff Ricky Chastain who had nothing but praises for his deputy. The Clerk of Court Lynn Lancaster, Family Court Judge John Rucker, and Judicial Services commander Captain Charles Boyce echoed similar sentiments. Lt. Hanks thanked the Laurens County Family for their support through the years and expressed how much he values the friendships he has made. Lt. Hanks said he will certainly miss the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and Court Staff but is looking forward to being able to spend more time with his grandchild who resides in the Lowcountry. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office extends our best wishes to Lt. Scott Hanks in his future endeavors.
